Spiti Valley Tour begins as you leave Chandigarh for the Himalayan town of Shimla. Enjoy the comforts of a luxury, As your driver takes you from the plains into the mountains at Shimla where you get your first taste of the Himalayas.Shimla today is an attractive blend of a hill, town. With its distinctive retro style, cars banned in the main town, Shimla has an old-world charm to it which feels as if the British left just yesterday.
While it’s a 4-hour drive to Shimla, we recommend spending a night in Shimla as the body gets acclimatized to the tough mountainous terrain that awaits us in Spiti Valley.While you get awed by the beauty of this town, remind yourself that this is just the beginning of a magical ten-day journey ahead. As there is no sightseeing scheduled for this day, you are free to rest at the hotel or you can explore the town on your own.

Early morning after breakfast check out from hotel we start our Himalayan road trip today and start driving to Sangla. With the Baspa river magically weaving itself through the forested slopes, this exquisite 95-kilometer stretch of the Sangla Valley is a sight to behold. Known predominantly for its agriculture, almost every house in Sangla will have cultivations of apples, pears, walnuts, apricots or potatoes.

Morning after relax breakfast, basking in the first rays of the sun, and later head towards Chitkul.Chitkul can be described as one of the most scenic settlements in the valley and the last inhabited village before the India-China border. This short drive from Sangla to Chitkul will be one of the most scenic drives you’ll take with plenty of opportunities to take stunning photographs.
Walk around the Bapsa river and pay tribute to the Mathi Goddess at the temple in the village. After spending time in Chitkul, we turn around and head to Kalpa.Legend has it that Kalpa was the winter home of Lord Shiva. If it’s true, he couldn’t have found a more remarkable abode for himself, with enthrallingly majestic views of the Kinner-Kailash and Jorkandan peaks looming right above the village.

After breakfast we continue driving on the famous Hindustan – Tibet Highway or the NH 22 – This stretch is famously known as one of most treacherous roads of the world.As you begin embracing the jaw-dropping views watch the mountains change their colours from the lush greens of the Kinnaur valley to the many hues of brown.After a quick refueling stop at Puh, we proceed to Nako – the last hamlet of Kinnaur, before we enter the gates of Spiti Valley. After lunch in Nako, we drive through Sumdo, the first village of Spiti Valley on this road, to Tabo, which would be our first stop in the glorious, mystical Spiti Valley.The second largest village of the Spiti Valley, Tabo, is known worldwide for its 1000-year-old Tabo Monastery. Walk around this UNESCO world heritage site and gain a deeper insight into Buddhism. Unlike other monasteries in the Spiti Valley, the Tabo monastery is located at the bottom of the valley.

Join the morning prayers at the Tabo Monastery which was constructed in 996 AD. It is a complex that consists of 9 Temples, 23 Chortens, a monk’s chamber and an extension that houses the nun’s chamber. There is also a modern Gompa and a painting school founded by the Dalai Lama.
Check out of the hotel in Tabo and head to Kaza (3870 metres above sea level). On your way to Kaza), visit Dhankar Gompa, the traditional capital of Spiti. This hilltop fort that overlooks the Spiti Valley used to be a jail earlier.

After breakfast take a trip to Ki Monastery. Ki Monastery, situated at the foot of steep ridges and on the left bank of river Spiti, is the biggest Gelupa Sect Monastery in Spiti. A post 13th century construction, the three-storey structure consists largely of storage rooms at the bottom level while the middle floor houses Dukhang - the Assembly Hall, and the uppermost floor has another temple on one side and Lama’s quarters on the other side of an open terrace.
Afterwards, take a scenic drive to Kibber. From Kibber, the pastures are spread over hundreds of square kilometres. After kibber take this road about 9 kilometers we will reach the small village of Gette. If you want to enter the village,you will have to leave your vehicle at the road and trek for about a kilometre.

After breakfast we drive to some of the highest inhabited regions of the world.The highest village in Asia, Komik, which literally translates to ‘eye of a snow cock’, is situated at a height of 4513 meters. This farming village has a population of 84 people, living in utter isolation, cut-off from the rest of the world for most parts of the year.

After breakfast we drive to Manali via Kunzumla Pass which is 4590 metres above sea level. The highest pass on Spiti is Lahaul Road. On arrival in Manali (3340 metres above sea level), check in to the hotel and enjoy a comfortable.

After breakfast, proceed to Chandigarh. On arrival, check into your hotel & after some rest, proceed to visit Rock Garden and Pinjore garden.
